The risk is in what has not been ordered
A purchase-order ledger shows what has been ordered. It does not show the item nobody has ordered yet that is about to become impossible. Techstyles reads each line’s lead time, counts back from the install date and flags it blocked, at risk, watching or OK.
Your books stay in Xero, where your accountant looks
Design Manager replaces the accounts package with its own ledger. Techstyles feeds Xero instead: an invoice raised against a project appears in Xero, and a payment recorded in Xero appears against the project, in GBP with VAT on the line.
Built in the UK, priced in pounds
Design Manager is priced in US dollars and, in its own words, “optimized for US-based firms”. Its showroom and data-collection modules cost extra. Techstyles is priced in pounds (£49 per user, £39 from the sixth, excluding VAT, everything included) and written in British English.
Trades and AI on every seat
A contractor portal (drawings with revisions, files, items without prices) comes with every account. Atelier, the Techstyles assistant, answers questions about any project and drafts client and supplier emails for you to send. Meeting notes become action items you accept as tasks, a daily brief covers every live job, and procurement risk insights sit on the schedule. Nothing is sent or saved until a person approves it.
Predictive, not reactive
The schedule flags the order before it is late.
A ledger records what happened. Techstyles starts from the date each item has to be on site, subtracts the lead time, and tells you which orders have to go out this week and which windows have already shut.

Credit where due
Where Design Manager is genuinely strong.
Design Manager takes the money side of a practice seriously. Client retainers and deposits, time billing, online payments, a general ledger with financial statements and tax reporting, even payroll calculations: all in one tool, with an iPhone app. For a US firm that wants to retire its accounts package, that is a real strength, and Techstyles does not try to match it.
The UK case is different. Your accountant expects the books in Xero, in pounds, with VAT on the line, and the design tool should feed them rather than replace them. If you move, we bring the product library, suppliers and job records across from your export.

What does install-date scoring do that a purchase-order report does not?
A purchase-order report tells you what you have ordered and when it is due.
