Add the bank details your invoices show
Set up UK and international bank accounts so every new invoice tells clients where to pay.
An invoice prints two sets of payment details: a UK account and an international one, so a client can pay from a UK bank or from abroad. Each kind has its own default.
Before you start
- You need permission to edit studio settings. Admins have it by default.
Steps
- Go to Settings > Finance.
- Under Bank accounts, choose Domestic (UK) or International.
- Click + Add UK account or + Add international account.
- Fill in the details:
- UK: Account name, Sort code, Account number, and optionally Label (optional) and Bank name (optional).
- International: Account name, IBAN (or Local account number (if no IBAN)), BIC / SWIFT, Bank name, and optionally Intermediary bank (optional) and Bank address (optional).
- Either: Currency this account receives (optional) and Payment reference to show the client (optional), for example "Quote the invoice number".
- Click Add account.
- To make an account the one new invoices use, click Set default.
What happens next
- New invoices get the default UK and default international account under Payment details. You can pick a different one on each invoice.
- The details are printed on the invoice PDF.
Good to know
- Existing invoices keep the accounts they were created with.
- Remove retires an account. Invoices already issued still show it. If it was the default, another account of the same kind becomes the default. A removed account can't be brought back; add it again if you need it.
- If you have no UK account, invoices show no UK payment details.
- Purchase orders don't carry bank details.
