Read the Studio overview

A one-page view of hours, staff cost, revenue, outstanding invoices, budget burn and team capacity for any period.

Who can do this: admins and managersUpdated

The Studio overview is the quickest way to see how the studio is doing in a period.

Steps

  1. Open Reports > Overview and choose a period.
  2. Read the four figures at the top: Hours logged, Studio cost, Revenue and Outstanding. Each is compared with the previous period of the same length.
  3. Read Studio P&L summary: revenue, costs, net position and margin.
  4. Read Hours logged trend: billable and non-billable hours over the period.
  5. Further down, check Top projects by budget burn, Overdue invoices and Team capacity.

Good to know

  • If someone has no hourly rate, a note says their hours are valued at zero, so costs are understated. Set rates in Change a member's role or hourly rate.
  • Revenue counts invoices sent, paid or overdue in the period.
  • Outstanding and Overdue invoices are as of today, whatever period you choose.
  • In Top projects by budget burn, the chip is green under 75%, amber from 75% to 90%, and red over 90%.
  • Team capacity here is hours logged against each person's weekly hours, for the chosen period.
  • Studio cost and the P&L summary are shown to admins and managers only.
