Set up the AI notetaker

Connect your studio's Recall.ai account so the AI notetaker can join and record meetings.

The AI notetaker is a bot that joins video calls and records them. It runs on your studio's own Recall.ai account, which Recall bills you for.

Before you start

  • You must be a studio admin.
  • You need a Recall.ai account and its API key.

Steps

  1. Go to Settings > Meeting notes.
  2. Switch Meeting notetaker on.
  3. Select Recall.ai.
  4. Paste the API key and choose the Region your Recall account uses.
  5. Optional: paste the Webhook secret.
  6. Click Test connection and wait for Connection verified.
  7. Click Save configuration.
  8. Optional: copy the address under Webhook endpoint into your Recall dashboard.

What happens next

  • Send the AI notetaker becomes available when people create meeting notes.
  • The key field shows "Saved · leave blank to keep".
  • Without a webhook, Techstyles checks Recall for finished meetings itself.

Good to know

  • If the test says Failed — check your credentials, check the key and region.
  • Switching Meeting notetaker off stops the bot joining. People can still record or upload audio.
