Summarise an email thread and create tasks
Get an AI summary of a client email thread, turn suggested tasks into real ones, and file the thread on a project.
Before you start
- Connect Gmail to your Inbox.
Steps
- Select Inbox and open a thread.
- In the AI summary box, click Summarize.
- Read the summary. Under individual messages, look for AI suggested task cards.
- Click Create task on any suggestion you want. Once created, click View to open it.
- To file the thread on a project, click Add to Project, search in Search projects..., pick the project and click Add to project.
What happens next
- The summary is kept until a new email arrives in the thread.
- Create task creates a real task, with the title, project, assignees and due date the AI suggested. You'll see the task's name confirmed.
- A thread added to a project appears in the project's messages for the team, with its attachments.
Good to know
- Email summaries are free, and they still work when your studio has run out of AI credits. You can ask for 20 an hour.
- Check a suggested task's project, assignee and date. The AI chooses the project from the client's email address.
- Creating tasks needs permission to edit tasks.
- To add a thread to a project you must be on its team (admins always can).
- To reply, click Reply, type in Write a reply... and send. The reply goes from your Gmail to the last person in the thread.
