Product Clipper is a Chrome browser extension developed by Techstyles. It allows interior design professionals to clip product information from supplier websites and save it directly to their Techstyles workspace. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

3.1 Account Data

When you sign in, we collect your email address and authenticate your identity against the Techstyles platform. We store a session token (via secure HTTP-only cookie) and your basic profile information (name, email, studio name) locally in your browser to keep you signed in.

3.2 Page Content (User-Initiated Only)

When you click the “Smart Fill” button, the extension reads content from the currently active browser tab — specifically:

• Visible text content from the product page
• Image URLs found on the page

This only happens when you explicitly click Smart Fill. The extension never reads page content automatically or in the background.

3.3 Product Data

When you clip a product, we collect the product details you submit (name, description, pricing, dimensions, materials, images, and the source URL) and save them to your Techstyles workspace.

3.4 Project Preferences

We store your “Add to Project” toggle preference locally using Chrome’s built-in storage API so your UI preference persists between sessions.

• We do not track your browsing history
• We do not read page content unless you click Smart Fill
• We do not collect any data from pages you visit passively
• We do not sell, share, or rent your data to third parties
• We do not use your data for advertising

6. AI Processing

When you use Smart Fill, page text content and image URLs from the active tab are sent to Techstyles servers where they are processed by an AI model to extract structured product information. This data is used solely to populate your product form and is not retained for AI training purposes.

7. Data Storage and Security

• Session authentication uses secure, HTTP-only cookies transmitted over HTTPS
• Local browser storage (Chrome storage API) holds only non-sensitive preference data and basic profile info
• All communication between the extension and Techstyles servers uses HTTPS encryption
• We do not store raw page content on our servers after AI extraction is complete

8. Third-Party Access

Your data is processed on Techstyles infrastructure. We do not share your data with third-party advertisers, analytics platforms, or data brokers. We may use trusted sub-processors (such as AI infrastructure providers) strictly to deliver the Smart Fill feature. These processors are contractually bound to handle data only for that purpose.

9. Data Retention

• Session data: retained until you log out or your session expires
• Clipped products: retained in your Techstyles workspace until you delete them
• Page content sent for AI extraction: not retained after processing

10. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your stored data by logging into your Techstyles account
• Delete your clipped products from your workspace at any time
• Log out at any time, which clears your local session data
• Request account deletion by contacting hello@techstyles.ai
