Choose what the client and contractor portals show
Turn each portal, and its procurement, files and messaging sections, on or off for a project.
Each project has its own switches for the client portal and the contractor portal. Use them to open a section when you are ready, or close one temporarily.
Steps
- Open the project and go to Settings, then Preferences.
- Under Client portal, set Enable client portal, Show procurement, Show shared files and Allow portal messaging.
- Under Contractor portal, set Enable contractor portal, Show procurement, Show shared files and Allow portal messaging.
- Click Save changes.
What happens next
- Switching a whole portal off signs out anyone using it for this project. When they next try to sign in they see "Portal access is disabled" with your studio's name.
- Switching a section off hides it straight away. Clients who open it see, for example, "Procurement is turned off".
Good to know
- Every switch is on by default for a new project, except the client's Show procurement. To share the schedule, the clearest way is the Client access switch on the Procurement tab, which also marks every existing piece as shared. See Share the schedule with your client.
- Drawings has no switch of its own. Clients and contractors only see packages you have shared or issued to them.
- On a phone, the client's bottom bar still shows sections you have turned off. Tapping one shows the "turned off" message.
- You can also turn the contractor portal on or off from People, then Contractors, with Enable contractor portal. It saves straight away.
