Move a lead through the pipeline
Drag a lead to its next stage, fill in what that stage needs, and mark it Won or Lost.
Each stage asks for a little more about the enquiry, so a lead in Won carries its final value, deposit and start date.
Before you start
- You need permission to edit clients.
- Use a computer. Stages are changed by dragging, which doesn't work on phones or tablets.
Steps
- Go to CRM > Pipeline.
- Drag the lead's card to the next column.
- In Update lead stage, fill in the details for that stage (see below).
- Click Save changes.
What each stage asks for
| Stage | Required |
|---|---|
| New | Nothing |
| Qualified | Project Type, Property Type, Property Size (sq ft), Budget Range |
| Proposal | Estimated Value, Proposal Type, Proposal Sent Date |
| Negotiation | Negotiation Reason, Revised Value |
| Won | Final Value, Deposit Received (ticked), Project Start Date |
| Lost | Loss Reason |
What happens next
- The card moves and its days-in-stage counter starts again.
- The Studio totals strip updates the open pipeline value and "won this month".
- Nobody is notified.
Good to know
- You can't mark a lead Won until the deposit has been received.
- Moving a lead to Proposal doesn't create a proposal. Use Create proposal on the card if you want one.
- Proposal Sent Date is a date you enter. It isn't linked to the Proposals tab.
- To move a lead back, drag it back. Details already entered are kept.
- The coloured dot on each card shows days in the stage: green under 7, amber 7 to 14, red over 14. Editing a lead also restarts the count.
