Connect a project to a Slack channel

Post a project's approvals, procurement alerts, markups and weekly digest to one Slack channel.

Who can do this: adminsUpdated

Each project can post its activity to one channel in your studio's Slack workspace. Techstyles can post to the channel but can't read anything said in it.

Before you start

  • You need to be a studio admin.
  • Slack must be connected for your studio first, in Settings › Studio › Integrations.

Steps

  1. Open the project and click Settings, then Integrations.
  2. In Channel, pick the channel this project should post to.
  3. If the channel is marked "invite Techstyles first", type /invite @Techstyles in that channel in Slack, then click Retry.
  4. Under What this channel gets, tick the updates you want:
    • when a client or contractor marks up a drawing
    • sign-off moving, and revisions a contractor asks for
    • items that become urgent, and items that arrive
    • when a task is completed (off by default)
    • a Monday 08:00 digest of what the team got done last week

What happens next

  • Updates you ticked start posting to the channel.
  • To stop, click Disconnect.

Good to know

  • Private channels only appear once Techstyles has been invited. Private channel not listed? on the card gives the two Slack commands to copy.
  • Managers, project leads and design leads can see this section, but only studio admins can change it.
