Capacity warnings when you assign work

What the overload note means when you assign a task or allocate team hours, and how to pick someone with more room.

Who can do this: admins and managersUpdated

When you assign someone to a task with dates, or allocate team hours in the new-project wizard, Techstyles checks whether it would overload them.

Steps

  1. Assign a person and set the dates on a task, or allocate team hours in the new-project wizard.
  2. If they would be overloaded, a note appears next to the field. Serious warnings are shaded.
  3. Under Who else could take it:, each name shows that person's peak load if they took the work instead. Click a name to assign them.

Good to know

  • The warning is advice only. You can still save.
  • Suggestions are "Ranked on workload only. This does not assess skill."
  • Warnings appear for admins and managers. Members do not see them.
