Create a drawing package
Start a new drawing package on a project and upload its first drawings.
A drawing package groups the drawings that are approved and issued together, such as "GA Plans — All Floors" or "Kitchen joinery".
Before you start
- You need to be the project lead, the design lead or a studio admin.
- Have at least one drawing file ready.
Steps
- Open the project and click the Drawings tab.
- Click New package.
- Enter a Package name.
- Drop drawings onto Drop drawings, or browse, or click to choose them.
- Click Create package. Keep the window open until every file shows Done.
What happens next
- The package starts in Draft.
- It gets a copy of your studio's issue checklist, set in Settings › Studio › Drawings.
- Each drawing is saved as version 1.
- Nobody is notified, and nothing is shared with the client or contractors yet.
Good to know
- If some files fail, you see how many. Do not click Create package again, as that makes a second package. Close the dialog, open the package and add the missing files with Add drawing files.
- Later changes to the studio checklist do not change packages that already exist.
- On the Drawings tab, use Search packages & drawings… to find a package or drawing. Click a package's row to list its drawings, and Open to see its details.
