Approve a drawing package

Every package is approved twice: first by the project lead, then by a studio admin.

Before you start

• At Lead review, the project lead or a studio admin can approve. The design lead can't.
• At Admin review, only a studio admin can approve.

Approve as project lead

1. Open the package from your notification, or click Open on the Drawings tab.
2. On the Files tab, click the eye (View drawing) to check each drawing and leave any comments. See Review a drawing and leave comments.
3. Click Approve as Project Lead.

Give final approval

1. Open the package.
2. Click Approve as Studio Admin.

What happens next

• After the project lead approves, the package moves to Admin review and you see Approved — sent to studio admin. Every studio admin gets an in-app notification.
• After final approval, the package is Approved and you see Approved. Nobody is notified in the app, so tell the team the package is ready to issue.
• You can issue it to contractors and send it to the client once the issue checklist is complete and every review comment is marked done. Open comments do not stop you approving.

Send a package back

At Lead review or Admin review, the project lead, the design lead or a studio admin can click Return. The package moves back one stage: from Admin review to Lead review, or from Lead review to Draft. There is no box for a reason and nobody is notified, so explain why in the project's Messages.

Good to know

• If the project has no project lead, only studio admins can approve at Lead review. Set one in Settings › People › Team.
• The approve buttons show for everyone, but are greyed out with Project lead / admin only or Studio admin only if you can't use them.
