Respond to a revision request on a drawing

Upload a revised drawing after a contractor asks for changes, then send the package back for approval.

Updated

When a contractor asks for a revision in their portal, the drawing and the package both show Revision requested.

Before you start

  • You need to be the project lead, the design lead or a studio admin.

Steps

  1. On the Drawings tab, open the package marked Revision requested.
  2. Click the drawing marked Revision. The request shows at the top, and on the Notes tab.
  3. Click Upload revised version, choose the file and describe the change.
  4. Click Upload version.
  5. Back in the package, click Re-issue for approval.
  6. Take the package through approval again. See Approve a drawing package.

What happens next

  • Uploading the revised version clears the request on that drawing. If a contractor asked for it, their open action is closed and they are told the revision has been addressed.
  • The contractor can see the revised drawing straight away.
  • Re-issue for approval clears the package's revision flag and moves it to Lead review. The project lead is notified.

Good to know

  • The package keeps Revision requested until you click Re-issue for approval.
  • Project leads, design leads and admins can reply on a drawing's Notes tab. Notes do not notify anyone, so use Messages for anything urgent.
  • Once the package is approved again, the issue checklist must be complete and every review comment marked done before you can share it further.
