Read the project overview

Understand the figures, health checks and cards on a project's Overview, and see what is stalling it.

Updated

The Overview tab is the first thing you see when you open a project. It shows where the project stands and what needs doing next.

Steps

  1. Open Projects and click a project.
  2. Read the figures under the project name:
    • Progress: how far the project is through its phase dates.
    • Budget: purchase order spend against the budget. It turns red above 85%.
    • Tasks: open and done tasks.
    • Time tracked: hours logged against the hours budgeted on the phases.
  3. Check the health row: Schedule, Blockers and Issues.
  4. To see what is stalling the project, click Blockers, or hover Issues and click See all →.
  5. In What's stalling this project, switch between the Blocker and Issue tabs. Click a blocker to go to where it can be fixed.

What the cards show

  • Work to move forward: up to six open tasks, with All tasks to open the board.
  • Milestones: phases complete and the next one due. Manage opens Settings › Schedule.
  • Upcoming deliveries: FF&E items with an expected delivery date from today.
  • Team: everyone on the project, with Project lead and Design lead marked.
  • Recent files: the last files you can open, with Open files.
  • Activity: recent task and purchase order updates.

Good to know

  • Progress is based on dates, not on completed tasks. A project with no phases shows 0%.
  • Blockers are open contractor actions. Issues are overdue tasks, overdue purchase orders, overdue phases with open tasks, and purchase orders or invoices that need review.
  • The blockers sheet is read-only. Fix each item on its own page.
  • Unless you are an admin, Tasks and Work to move forward count only tasks assigned to you.
  • Add task takes you to the Tasks tab.
