Change a project's colour

Pick the colour each project uses on the studio calendar, use your own hex colour, or re-spread the palette.

Who can do this: adminsUpdated

Every project has a colour. Tasks on the studio calendar are painted in the colour of their project, so distinct colours make a busy month easier to read.

Before you start

  • You need access to studio settings and permission to edit projects.

Steps

  1. Go to Settings > Project colors.
  2. Find the project. Use Search projects… to search by name or project code.
  3. Click its colour button and pick one of the 16 colours.

What happens next

  • The colour saves straight away. There is no save button.
  • The studio calendar and project lists use the new colour.

Use your own colour

  1. Open the project's colour button.
  2. In Custom hex, type a value such as #E07A57 and press Enter.

The button then says Custom. Text on calendar bars turns dark or light to stay readable.

Re-spread the palette

This replaces every project's colour straight away, including ones you picked by hand. There is no confirmation, and the old colours aren't kept.

Click Re-spread palette to give every project a palette colour in turn, so neighbouring projects do not clash.

Good to know

  • A shared color tag shows when two projects use the same colour. With more than 16 projects, some colours repeat.
  • The list includes archived and completed projects.
  • You can also change a colour from the project itself.
