Projects
How a project is organised in Techstyles, who can see it, and where each part of the work lives.
A project holds everything for one job: its schedule and phases, tasks, FF&E schedule, drawings, files, messages, finance and the people working on it. Start a project once, then work inside its tabs.
The tabs inside a project
Open any project to see its tab bar. Some tabs only show if your role allows them.
| Tab | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Overview | Progress, budget, health, upcoming work and recent activity |
| Tasks | The project's task board, one column per phase (needs permission to view tasks) |
| Messages | Project conversations |
| Procurement | The FF&E schedule |
| Drawings | Drawing packages and their approval |
| Finance | Purchase orders and invoices (needs permission to view finance) |
| Files | Folders, documents, links and PDF markup (needs permission to view documents) |
| Contractors | Trades working on the project |
| Meeting notes | Notes and transcripts from project meetings |
| Settings | Details, people, rooms, schedule, budget and preferences |
Who can see a project
- Admins see every project in the studio.
- Everyone else sees the projects they are on the team for, plus projects they created or lead.
- Creating a project needs permission to edit projects. Admins and managers have it by default; members do not.
How progress is worked out
Progress on a project is based on its schedule, not on completed tasks. It is the average of how far today sits through each phase's dates. A project with no phases shows 0%.
