Add subtasks to a task
Break a task into a checklist of smaller steps you can tick off, edit and reorder.
Subtasks are a simple checklist inside a task. They save as you go.
Steps
- Open the task.
- Under Subtasks, click Add subtask.
- Type the step and press Enter, or click away.
- Tick a subtask's box when it is done.
- To change one, click its text and edit it.
- To reorder, drag a row by its handle.
- To remove one, click its bin. This happens straight away, with no confirmation, and can't be undone.
What happens next
- Each change saves straight away. My Tasks shows progress on the row, for example 2/5.
Good to know
- Ticking every subtask does not change the task's status.
- Subtask changes do not appear in the task's Activity.
- Empty rows are not saved.
