Change a task's status

Move a task between To do, In progress, In review and Done from the drawer, a board or the calendar.

Updated

Every task has one of four statuses: To do, In progress, In review and Done.

Before you start

  • You can change status if you are assigned to the task, or if you can edit the task's other details (creator, project creator or lead, manager or admin).

Steps

  1. Open the task.
  2. Click Status and choose To do, In progress, In review or Done.
  3. Click Save changes.

Quicker ways

  • My Tasks, Board: drag the card to another status column.
  • My Tasks, List: click the status chip to step through To do, In progress, In review and Done.
  • Any board or list: tick the box to switch between Done and To do.
  • Calendar: click the task, then a status button.

What happens next

  • The task's Activity records the change, for example "changed Status from To do to In progress".
  • Moving a task to Done adds it to the studio activity feed, and posts to Slack if the project's channel is set up for completed tasks.
  • Nobody is notified.

Good to know

  • Setting a task to Done does not stop a running timer. Stop it yourself, or use Complete in focus mode.
  • Unticking a done task always sets it back to To do.
