Read the Finance report

See what was invoiced and collected in a period, how old your unpaid invoices are, and which projects brought in the most.

Who can do this: admins and managersUpdated

The Finance report shows the money coming in over a period, and what is still unpaid today.

Steps

  1. Open Reports > Finance and choose a period. It opens on This Year.
  2. Read the four figures at the top: Revenue invoiced, Collected, Outstanding and PO spend.
  3. Read Revenue vs costs, last 12 months: invoiced revenue against purchase order spend, month by month.
  4. Read Outstanding invoice aging: unpaid invoices split into Not yet due, 1–30 days overdue, 31–60 days overdue and 60+ days overdue.
  5. Read Revenue by project: the six projects with the most invoiced revenue in the period.

How the figures are worked out

  • Revenue invoiced: invoices dated in the period, less credit notes. Void invoices are left out.
  • Collected: payments dated in the period, whichever period the invoice belongs to.
  • Outstanding: revenue invoiced minus collected, for the period.
  • PO spend: purchase orders dated in the period.

Good to know

  • Drafts count as revenue here, and in Outstanding invoice aging, until you delete them. The Overview report leaves drafts out, so the two can differ.
  • The monthly chart always shows the 12 months up to the end of the chosen period.
  • Outstanding invoice aging and the overdue count ignore the period you chose.
  • Everything is converted into your studio's default currency.
  • This report has no export.
