Check your studio's AI credits
See how many AI credits your studio has left this month, how the allowance works and which features used them.
Techstyles AI runs on an allowance of credits shared by the whole studio.
Before you start
- You need permission to edit studio settings (Settings > Roles & permissions). Admins have it by default.
Steps
- Go to Settings > AI usage.
- Read Credits: how many are left of this month's allowance.
- Read Product clipping: how many products have been clipped this period.
- Read Where the credits went to see each feature, how many times it was used and the credits it took.
How the allowance works
- A studio starts with an opening balance of 5,000 credits, set the first time it uses AI.
- Early on the 1st of each month, the balance goes back up to the monthly allowance, which is 5,000 credits by default.
- The balance is topped up to that figure, not added to it, so unused credits don't carry over.
- A job is charged when it finishes, by how much work it took. A long answer costs more than a short one, and the balance can dip just below zero.
What uses credits
- Atelier in Techstyles and Report Insights, shown as TechStyles AI chat
- Dictation, shown as Other
- Meeting transcription, and meeting summaries shown as Meeting notes
- Product clipping
- Search and drawing descriptions, if search is turned on for your studio
What is free
- Email summaries, shown as Included.
- The daily brief and the wording of procurement warnings. Neither is listed on the page.
Good to know
- The page warns you when 20% or less is left: "Running low. The allowance renews at the start of next month."
- Clipping counts every product extracted, even ones you then discard.
- If there's no allowance shown and the page says "This studio is on a bespoke arrangement with no automatic monthly allowance", your balance doesn't renew by itself.
- When the balance reaches zero, see If your studio runs out of AI credits.
