If your studio runs out of AI credits
What stops, what keeps working, what people see and what to do when your studio's AI credits reach zero.
Credits are shared by the whole studio, so when they reach zero, the paid AI features stop for everyone until the allowance renews on the 1st of the month. The rest of Techstyles carries on as normal.
What stops, and what people see
- Atelier in Techstyles and Report Insights: they stop answering, and reply "This studio has run out of AI credits."
- Meeting summaries: the transcript is still made, but the note shows "No summary available." and suggests no tasks.
- Product clipping: the clipper says "This month's AI credit is used up. Add product manually, or ask your studio admin to top up." You can still add the product by hand.
- AI usage page: it shows "This studio has used all of its AI credits".
What keeps working
- The daily brief, email summaries and procurement warnings, which are free.
- Meeting transcription.
- Search indexing and drawing descriptions, if search is turned on for your studio.
Jobs that keep running are still charged, so your balance can go below zero. It goes back to your full allowance on the 1st either way.
What to do
- Go to Settings > AI usage and check Where the credits went.
- Wait for the allowance to renew on the 1st of the month.
- If you can't wait, contact Techstyles support.
Good to know
- The messages mention an administrator topping up, but there's no top-up button in Techstyles. Admins can't add credits themselves. Support can.
- If the chat says you have run out but AI usage still shows credits, your credits aren't the cause. AI may be switched off for your studio, or your trial or subscription may have ended. In that case the free features stop too.
- If the page says AI features are switched off for this studio, topping up won't help. Contact support.
- A summary that was skipped isn't made automatically when the credits come back.
