Techstyles AI

What Techstyles AI does across the studio, who can use each part, what Atelier in Techstyles can read and draft, and why nothing changes until a person confirms.

Updated

Techstyles AI is the set of AI features built into Techstyles. Its main one is Atelier in Techstyles, an assistant that answers questions about your studio and can prepare work for you to approve.

Who can use what

Not everything is open to everyone in the studio.

FeatureWho can use it
Atelier in Techstyles: the tile in the top bar, or ⌘J (Ctrl+J on Windows)Admins only
Report Insights: questions about the figures on any reportAdmins only
Meeting notes: summaries, key points and suggested tasks from recordings and transcriptsAnyone on the project team, plus admins and managers
Inbox: summaries of email threads with your clients, and suggested tasksEveryone, with their own Gmail
Daily brief: a short summary of your day on HomeEveryone
AI and API access: connect an outside AI assistant, such as Claude, to read your studio's dataAnyone with permission to edit studio settings. Admins have it by default

Managers and members can't use Atelier in Techstyles or Report Insights, and neither can be switched on for them in Roles & permissions. It reads across the whole studio, so it's limited to admins for now.

What it reads

Atelier in Techstyles only sees what your role can see. It can look up:

  • projects, their phases, team and progress;
  • tasks and overdue work;
  • your team, their workload, who is free and how one person's work is going;
  • FF&E and procurement, with risks, supplier lead times and price history;
  • invoices and finance figures, if you have finance access;
  • logged time;
  • the names of documents;
  • what your documents, meeting notes, messages, Slack and email say, as passages it names as its source, for projects you can open. See Search what your documents and meetings say.

What it drafts

What it changes, and only after you confirm

In Agent mode, it can propose:

  • creating a task, reassigning one, or changing its status or due date;
  • moving a procurement item's status, changing its dates or flagging it;
  • creating a project, or putting people on one;
  • raising a purchase order or an invoice;
  • inviting a client to the client portal.

Nothing changes until you click Approve & run or Confirm. Steps that send an email or spend money always need their own Confirm. Every change goes through the same checks as if you had made it yourself.

Good to know

  • Techstyles AI uses your studio's AI credits: 5,000 by default, renewed on the 1st of each month. Email summaries, the daily brief and procurement warnings are free. See Check your studio's AI credits.
  • Techstyles AI can make mistakes. Check figures before you rely on them.
