Handle issues and revision requests from contractors

Find the problems contractors raise on items and drawings, reply, and close them off.

Updated

Contractors can raise an issue on a shared item, or request a revision on a drawing. Both land in your project with an owner, so nothing gets lost.

Issues on items

Contractors raise these from their Procurement page. You are not sent a notification, so check regularly.

  1. Open the project's Contractors tab and choose Action log. The red number shows how many are open.
  2. Click an issue to read it and reply. See Log and track contractor actions.
  3. Or, on Procurement, click the item's Issue chip to open the Issue tab, reply in Reply to the contractor…, and click Mark as resolved when it is dealt with.

Revision requests on drawings

The project lead and design lead are notified straight away.

  1. Open the notification, or go to Drawings and open the package marked Revision requested.
  2. Open the drawing. The contractor's request is shown at the top.
  3. Click Upload revised version, choose the file, add a note on what changed and click Upload version.
  4. Click Re-issue for approval on the package. It goes back to the project lead for approval.

What happens next

  • When you upload the revised version, the contractor gets a "Revision addressed" notification and sees the new version straight away.
  • Their open request is closed in the Action log.

Good to know

  • New issues are given to the project's design lead, or the project lead if there is no design lead.
  • If a contractor raises a second issue on an item that already has an open one, it is added to the first.
  • The contractor sees the new drawing version as soon as you upload it, before the package is re-approved.
