Open and mark up shared files

Find documents the studio has shared with you, download them, and add comments to PDFs.

Files holds documents the studio has shared with you, such as specifications, schedules and supplier details. You can read them, download them and mark up PDFs.

Steps

  1. Open Files.
  2. Tap a folder to open it, or type in Search files and folders….
  3. Tap a file to open it. A dot on a card means you have not opened it yet.
  4. To download on a computer, hover over the file and click Download.

Marking up a PDF

  1. Open the PDF.
  2. Choose a mark-up tool from the toolbar at the top of the viewer and mark the page.
  3. Close the viewer when you have finished. Your marks save as you go.

The studio is told that you have commented, and a note appears in your conversation with them in Messages.

Good to know

  • Opening a file tells the studio you have seen it.
  • When the studio replaces a file with a newer version, you see the latest one.
  • You can't upload files here. To send the studio a photo or document, attach it in Messages.
  • PDF mark-up works in Files. Drawings in Drawings are view and download only.
  • If you see "Files is turned off", the studio has not opened this section for your project.
