Add a library product to a project
Put a product from your library onto a project's FF&E schedule, in the right room, with a quantity and the date it is needed on site.
Items reach a project's schedule from your library. You choose the project and room, set how many you need and when, and Techstyles adds the item to the Procurement tab.
Before you start
- The product is in your Library. If it isn't, add it or clip it from the supplier's website.
- The project is Active and has at least one room. Rooms are added in the project's Settings > Rooms.
Steps
- Open Library.
- Find the product and click Add to Project on its card. You can also open the product and click Add to project at the bottom of its details.
- Choose the project. Use Search projects by name, location, or client... if you have many.
- Choose the room.
- Set the Quantity.
- Check the Installation date, the date the item is needed on site. It starts as the project's installation date.
- If the supplier gives your studio a trade discount, Supplier discount shows it. Leave it on, change the percentage, or switch it off for this item.
- Check the price at the bottom, then click Add to Project.
What happens next
- The item appears at the top of its room on the project's Procurement tab, with approval Review and logistics Not ordered.
- The installation date you chose becomes the item's Required by date. Add a lead time and Techstyles works out the Order by date.
- If Client access is on for the project, the item is shared with the client straight away and they are told there is a new item to review.
Good to know
- The product's currency stays as it is. If it differs from the project's currency, the dialog shows a converted total and the exchange rate. Nothing is converted when you save, and a purchase order for the item is raised in the product's own currency.
- The item's name, images, specification, supplier and price come from the library. If you edit the library product, the schedule updates too, until a purchase order is raised for the item.
- The item's price is the product's trade price, or its regular price if there is no trade price, less the supplier discount.
- You set the discount here. It can't be changed later on the schedule, so check it before you add the item.
- The same product can be added more than once, for example to two rooms. Techstyles doesn't warn you about duplicates.
- Only active projects are listed. If yours is missing, check its status in the project's settings.
