Connect your Google Calendar
Show your Google meetings on Home, feed them into your daily brief, and add events to Google from Techstyles.
Google Calendar connects through your own Google account. It is personal: each person connects their own, and only you see your events.
Before you start
- Allow pop-ups for Techstyles in your browser. Google's sign-in opens in a pop-up window.
Steps
- Open Home.
- On the Calendar card, which says Google Calendar not connected, click Connect Google.
- In the pop-up, choose your Google account and allow access.
What happens next
- The Calendar card shows your Google events. Switch between Week and Month, and use the arrows or Today to move around.
- Click a day to see each event's time and location, with Join for video calls. Click an event to open it in Google Calendar.
- Today's meetings appear in your daily brief.
- The same Google connection is used by Inbox, so Gmail is connected at the same time.
Add an event to your Google Calendar
- Click + (Quick Add) in the top bar, then Meeting.
- In Add event, fill in Summary, Start Time and End Time. Location, Attendees (comma separated emails) and Description are optional.
- Click Create Event.
The event is added to your main Google Calendar. To change or delete it later, use Google Calendar.
Good to know
- The connection belongs to the studio you made it in, and your calendar only shows there. If you work in more than one studio, connecting from another one moves it there.
- The Calendar card shows Google events only, not Techstyles tasks.
- If nothing happens when you click Connect Google, your browser blocked the pop-up. Allow it and try again.
- If the card goes back to Google Calendar not connected later, see Gmail, Slack or Calendar stopped working.
- To disconnect, disconnect Gmail in Inbox. That removes calendar access too. See Connect Gmail to your Inbox.
