An upload failed
Why a file won't upload, from its size to your studio's storage, and what to do about each.
In the Upload documents dialog, a failed file shows the reason on its row. Find what it says below. The most likely causes come first.
"[file name] exceeds 50 MB"
Files takes up to 50 MB per file. The file isn't added to the list, so nothing is lost.
- If it's a drawing, add it to a drawing package on the Drawings tab. The 50 MB limit doesn't apply there.
- Otherwise make it smaller, split it, or store it elsewhere and add a web link to Files.
"Storage limit exceeded. Upgrade your plan."
Your studio has used its storage allowance, or this file would take it over.
- Go to Settings > Storage and see what is taking the space. See Check and free up storage.
- Delete what you no longer need. Deleted files can't be brought back, and the figure can take up to ten minutes to update.
- To raise your allowance, email support@techstyles.ai. Despite the message, there is no storage upgrade in Billing.
The dialog closed and some files didn't arrive
Closing the dialog while files are uploading cancels whatever hasn't finished, with no warning. Upload those files again and leave the dialog open until every file shows a tick.
"Upload failed", or a network error
This is usually the connection dropping. The other files in the batch still upload.
- Check your connection.
- Click Done, then upload just the failed files again.
Every upload fails, and a banner says read-only
If your studio's trial has ended or a payment is overdue, every change is refused, including uploads. See Trials, payment problems and read-only studios.
There's no Upload button
You need permission to edit documents, which admins and managers have to start with. See A page or button is missing.
A new drawing package failed part-way
You see "Package created" with the number of files that failed. The package exists, so don't click Create package again, or you get a second one. Open the package and add the missing drawings.
